- NCBI TaxIDs are stable unique identifiers for each taxon (for a species, a family, an order, or any other group) in NCBI's taxonomy database.
- sequence similarity searches against sequence collections can yield hits with multiple taxIDs (separated by semicolons). BlobTools
create
